Grumpy Bagels occupies a decades-old Imbi bungalow, kept deliberately worn — walnut-accented furnishing, original floors, a skylight over classic cabinets and palm trees. Founder Claire learned the bagels she savoured in the United States and toasts them for a crisp bite and a full-bodied chew, and the room is as much the draw as the food, right down to its vintage soundtrack.
